Papyrus Peak 1.1: files, EPUB and real book logic
Our biggest update yet: books saved as files with backups, EPUB export, every KDP trim size when you create a book, publisher-grade book logic, a bigger preview, light/dark mode and English.
Version 1.1 is here – our biggest update so far. If Papyrus Peak is already installed, you will see “New version available” the next time you start it. One click is all it takes.
Your books as files
Every book is now saved as its own file in Documents/Papyrus Peak. Papyrus Peak saves automatically, keeps a daily backup (the last seven days) and asks before quitting if anything is unsaved. Press ⌘S or Ctrl+S to save right away.
New book: title, author and trim size up front
When you create a book you choose title, author, language and the KDP trim size from every paperback size, with a small preview of the page shape. You can change it later in the book settings; margins, preview and cover adapt automatically.
EPUB for your ebook
Next to the print PDF and cover PDF you can now export an EPUB 3 with table of contents, images, tables and your style – paperback and ebook from a single file.
Book logic like a publisher
- half title, title page, contents, foreword and chapters automatically start on a right-hand page
- the app inserts the blank pages that requires
- roman page numbers in the front matter, arabic from chapter 1
- new elements: prologue, epilogue, introduction, afterword, glossary and bibliography
Print-ready PDF
The print PDF embeds all fonts, is padded to an even page count and is checked automatically after export: page size, page count, fonts and image resolution.
Also new
- cleaner tables, and images can be placed freely within the type area
- a bigger preview with zoom and full screen
- light and dark mode
- the app now speaks English (Settings → Language)
- PDF import now works reliably on the Mac
